The documents of the Maritime Boundary Office are being systematised in view of their historical, probative, cultural and legal significance, both to support the ongoing activities of the Maritime Boundary Office and to be preserved for posterity.

This Database and Archive System enables the reader to better understand the continuing process of maritime boundary delimitation between Timor-Leste and its neighbours Australia and Indonesia. This process, which has been declared a national priority of the Timorese State since the restoration of independence, has been subject to extensive interest both nationally and internationally.

Given this interest, the Maritime Boundary Office is providing access to publicly available documents contained in the Database and Archive System. Requests may also be made to access documents subject to confidentiality requirements which will be granted in accordance with the security and confidentiality protocols that are in place.
